Mid-Atlantic bloom time: April - September

Originally native to Europe, western Asia, and northern Africa, Red Clover has been widely grown as a fodder crop.

Red Clover leaves are trifoliate (each leaf consisting of three leaflets) and alternate with a pale crescent or V-shape in the middle of each leaflet. It typically grows to 8-20 inches high (20-50 cm), and has a deep taproot.

Both its flowers and leaves are reportedly edible.
