Family: Fabaceae (Legume / Pea family)

Mid-Atlantic bloom time: April - October

Low Hop Clover is native to Europe and western Asia. It is valued in agriculture for feeding livestock and replenishing soil.

The genus name Triflolium means "three leaves", and the species name campestre means "of the fields", which is often where it's found.

Its leaflets have 5 obvious diagonal veins and are notched at their tips.
