Yellow Pond-lily's leaves 12 times as long as they are wide, and are mostly held above the water. The leaves have prominent sinuses that are about 1/3 as long as the midribs. It has yellow-green flowers that float on the water's surface or extend beyond it. Each flower has six sepals that surround its gynoecium.
