Family: Primulaceae
Mid-Atlantic bloom time: June - August
Notice the characteristic yellow nodding flower heads and ciliate-fringed leaf petioles. The flower petals are usually slightly toothed or lobed. Unlike the Whorled Loosestrife Lysimachia quadrifolia, the Fringed Loosestrife has two opposite large leaves along its stem, often accompanied by two much smaller auxillary leaves.
