Mid-Atlantic bloom time: April - May

Autumn Olive was extensively planted as a wildlife resource until it was realized it is very invasive.

It can be distinguished from the similar Russian Olive (also invasive) by looking at the underside of the leaves; Autumn Olive has both silvery and bronze scales, where Russian Olive just has silver scales.
