Eastern Bastard Toadflax is a fairly plain, alternate-leaved, glabrous plant. Its leaves are pale green, entire, and have short or almost no petioles. It stems grow to 1030 cm, atop which it forms terminal inflorescences of white, 5-petal flowers.
Eastern Bastard Toadflax is hemiparasitic that parasitizes many species, including oaks, maples, beeches, roses, bluberries, and some grasses. It is the only species in its genus.
