Family: Brassicaceae (Mustard family)
Mid-Atlantic bloom time: May - July
Coincya monensis is originally from Europe and has a number of recognized subspecies, at least one of which (ssp. recurvata) has appeared to have separated into its own subspecies in North America. It appears to have been brought over to America in the early 1800s in the ballast of ships1.
