Pennsylvania Bittercress is a native bittercress that does not form basal rosettes. It's stem leaves have cut leaflets that do not have auricles. Those leaflets have tissue that extends down the rachis of the leaf, with no visible petioles.
A spring wildflower of the woodlands, Pennsylvania Bittercress is not very showy and it is often overlooked. This plant has a similar appearance to other Bitter Cresses (Cardamine spp.) with small white flowers, including Cardamine hirsuta (Hairy Bitter Cress).
