Family: Sapindaceae (Soapberry family)

Mid-Atlantic bloom time: May - June
Mid-Atlantic fruit ripe: June - September

Striped Maple's bark is striped green and white when young, turning brown as it ages. Its inflorescences hang down, which combined with its striped bark distinguish it from Mountain Maple (Acer spicatum), which has a similar leaf shape.
